FUFULL TIMING IT IN 2004/2005 By Bob & Jeanne Kapp
We have done a lot of traveling the last year or so and have taken bad or extreme weather with us wherever we go it seems. We were at the FMCA rally in Oregon and then proceeded to the Seattle area for the early fall. We spent some time on the Columbia River and the seacoast of Washington and Oregon where we were rained on almost continuously. The scenery was fabulous but having only motorcycles for transportation got to be limiting or wet and cold. From There we proceeded down the California coast to our home park in southern California and guess what I’m sure you have heard about the record rains we had, well we experienced two storms that washed out the road to the campground twice. Once in September and then once in early January. We also had 6 inches of snow the weekend before thanksgiving. Beautiful pictures! Then we moved into the area around Palm Springs and had dry and windy weather. We then made it to the rally in Quartzite and spent the month of February in a county park on the Colorado River just south of Needles, CA. It was the coolest winter the southwest has had in a long time. The rain however made the desert green and the flowers bloom. The natives say this is the prettiest the desert has ever been. At Quartzite we joined the Escapees and heard they were having an “Escapade” in Indio, CA in March so from the desert we went back to our home park in CA and then to Palm Springs again and on to Indio. We went to Yuma, AZ and crossed into Mexico for a day. Then on to Tucson for a motorcycle rally and then to Benson and Casa Grande. That brings us up to date and finds us in Camp Verde just south of Flagstaff, AZ. We are planning on seeing the Grand Canyon and surrounding area. Then the southern area of Colorado. Heading on to a military reunion in Kansas City then back out to Cheyenne, WY for the pre-rally, Sturgis, SC for bike week and then over to Oregon again to do some crabbing and hang around for the homecoming in October. Then we think we will be coming back to Florida for the winter. WHEEEEEW!!! Say HI to everyone in ACE.
Note from Peggy & Tom Bacome Tom and I stayed in Colorado Springs, Colorado an extra two days so we could see Bob & Jeanne while we were both in the same area. When we heard from Bob, we were in the snowy mountains at Breckenridge, Colorado and they were in Gunnison, Colorado. They were getting to Colorado Springs the following Tuesday and we were leaving for home on Monday. We decided to go home via Colorado Springs and stay until Wednesday so we could see them Tuesday evening. We had such a good visit and enjoyed a super meal together at the “Western-Sizzlin”. We told them that we had missed them and was looking forward to seeing them again at our rallies. Bailey, their dog, was so cute and friendly especially with Tom. He had won a blue ribbon for his dress up as a clown. Jeanne had made his outfit for him.
